Birds of Eden, like its neighbor Monkeyland, is a well-known sanctuary for primates. However, Birds of Eden offers a canopy walk of its own, which is shorter than the 128m bridge at Monkeyland but still hangs high above the clouds. What makes Birds of Eden unique is its two-hectare dome, the largest in the world, which stretches over a gorge of indigenous forest. The sanctuary currently houses over 3,500 birds from 220 different species, with a focus on African birds. While visits to Birds of Eden are generally self-guided, guided walks can be arranged upon request.

Our Sanctuaries = Monkeyland, Birds of Eden and Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary
Monkeyland and Birds of Eden are open every day from 8am to 5pm, but we can arrange other times if needed. Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary welcomes guests daily from 9am to 5pm, and the last entry is at 3:45pm sharp. All of our sanctuaries are equipped to handle any weather conditions, and we can accommodate visitors of all ages and group sizes.
The entrance fee to Monkeyland, Birds of Eden, and Jukani is a daily rate, but children aged 2 years or younger can enter for free. South African pensioners can enjoy a 10% discount off our normal rate.At Monkeyland and Jukani, our safari guides lead all the tours, which are 45 minutes to 1 hour at Monkeyland and 60 to 90 minutes at Jukani.
All of our sanctuaries and facilities are wheelchair accessible. You can also visit our curio stores and restaurants at each location. Please note that our sanctuaries are hands-off facilities, and we offer affordable sanctuary memberships on an annual basis.Our tours are typically conducted in English or Afrikaans, but we also have safari guides who speak German and French at Monkeyland. If you require a non-English tour, please book at least 24 to 48 hours in advance.
Please also remember to bring your camera, but keep in mind that selfie sticks or GoPro extenders are not allowed. Lastly, we recommend wearing comfortable shoes for your visit. Don’t forget, pensioners can enjoy a discounted rate!
